I didn't watch last night's All-Star Game (mostly because the pregame ceremonies pushed the start of the game back to 8:41 and I was in a bad mood and didn't want to listen to Tim McCarver's voice and really who cares?), but I did notice when the Marlins' beat writers gave play-by-play tweets of Josh Johnson's two-inning relief stint. Watch a video of Johnson's outing here. Our man struck out Ichiro swinging (no small feat against a guy with a career 10.0% K%), froze Derek Jeter, and jammed Vlad Guerrero inside to force a weak line-out. Johnson hit 99 mph on the radar gun a few times, to boot. There's a reason he leads the NL with 4.8 WAR at the break. He also got some help from former University of Miami standout (and Marlins Diehards favorite) Ryan Braun, who laid out to rob Josh Hamilton of extra bases.

It's been a rough first half for Marlins fans, as we've watched our team continually take two steps back for every one step forward. But when your favorite team boasts a pitcher as good as Johnson, at least you'll get the opportunity to smile once every five days.
